THE PRICE OF FREE is the award-winning documentary which opens our eyes to the injustice of child labour, told through the true stories of children rescued by Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi.

Made by the team who brought us An Inconvenient Truth and He Named Me Malala, the film follows the different narratives of parents, campaigners, and the children themselves, and depicts the story of how Kailash went from being a young activist, angry at the injustice of child labour, to leading a team that has rescued over 86,000 children from forced labour and slavery in India. The Price of Free is a YouTube Original feature length documentary, which is available on YouTube channel Soul Pancake.

To mark the film’s release, a global screening started in November 2018 and will continue until March 2019, when people can watch for free online. Screenings are happening in parliaments, schools and communities around the world as part of the 100 Million campaign.

Documentaries are a powerful tool to raise awareness of injustices and often leave their audiences angry at the scale of the problem and wanting to do something to help.

To help you harness this energy, we have created a short activity to accompany the screening that can be completed with just five minutes before and after the film. It invites the audience to challenge their own perceptions and think about their role in defending child rights.

We have created a one-page guide to running this activity, with different versions based on the age of the audience:
